On weekends, the GPP maestro you all know and love, STLCards, takes the reins.
GENERAL SLATE THOUGHTS
7:55 AM ET: Yesterday exceeded even my high expectations when it came to the amount of news we got, so let’s see what we might be looking at for tonight’s five-game slate. As usual, let’s start by looking at the two teams who are playing on the second night of a back-to-back and have yet to submit injury reports.
Utah Jazz: In last night’s loss in Cleveland, the Jazz were without Collin Sexton (hamstring) and Kelly Olynyk (sprained ankle). Sexton has missed the last six games with this hamstring injury but is apparently getting closer to a return. For now though, we are not including him in projections until we get a positive update. As for Olynyk, yesterday was the first game he has missed with this injury. So we’ll have to see if that was a one-time thing, or if this is something that will keep him out multiple games. And then past those two guys, we’ll want to see if anyone else grabs a rest night or maybe came out of last night’s game nicked up. In regards to the former, Mike Conley would be the first name that comes to mind. He often gets managed in back-to-backs, and he sat out the second leg of their most recent set (12/9 & 12/10).
