NBA DFS Core Plays LIVE: Tuesday, December 27th
Andy Means (meansy53) will be bringing Premium subscribers his top NBA DFS plays to build around for the upcoming slate. A former Duke basketball walk-on, Meansy will also give you his thoughts on the slate as a whole from a macro perspective. On weekends, the GPP maestro you all know and love, STLCards, takes the reins. And on this rare occasion, we have Noto at the helm.
GENERAL SLATE THOUGHTS
9:45 AM ET – Happy Tuesday! The NBA scheduling gods put together a masterpiece this week. There are between six and 10 games on every single slate. That’s honestly the sweet spot, both from a content standpoint and when it comes to playing DFS. Extremely small slates can often come down to a coin flip between a player or two and extremely large slates can be tough to parse through given the fact that there are so many options at each position. I’m not sure how many games there are per day on average during the season, but I would love for there to be between five and eight games every night.
I ended up having a nice slate on Monday and hope many of you did as well. The Pelicans stack with DeMar DeRozan was more than enough to carry my main tournament lineup across the cash line. I didn’t get any feedback on my horror movie and haunted house take yesterday, so I’ll just assume everyone agreed with me. You ready for another great Noto take?
Sauce and condiments are for the birds. Ketchup, mayo, mustard, horseradish, sour cream, tartar sauce, ranch, and others are disgusting. Plain is the way to go — you can save your calories for good things like beer and doughnuts, your food doesn’t get soggy, and everything tastes much better. Sure, the occasional sandwich or hamburger can be a little dry, but life is better without sauce. I’m sure this take will fire some people up.
Now that I have that off my chest, let’s dive into tonight’s 10-game slate. There are five teams that are playing in the second half of a back-to-back — the Clippers, Pacers, Rockets, Spurs, and Hornets. It doesn’t mean we need to cross these teams off our list of potential targets, but they are candidates to rest players and it’s obviously preferred to play with a little rest. John Wall and Eric Gordon are the only two that I am expecting to sit, but there could certainly be more.
