NBA DFS Core Plays & Top Picks for Saturday, October 24th
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career. Each weekday, Noto will walk you through the featured NBA DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel. On the weekends, Taylor Smith will take the reins.

Happy Saturday! We’ve changed up the Core Plays format a bit this season, so hopefully, you like it. We think it’s a more efficient way to deliver an overview of the slate, and it’ll be more impactful once the schedule really picks up. A lot of the morning content from previous iterations would be completely obsolete after injury reports dropped, so this makes more sense. And if you don’t like it, I suggest calling your senator or something.
Speaking of senators, is anyone else loving being utterly inundated with political ads any time you watch TV? Some of them are really going for it. “John Smith wants your KIDS to have to read BOOKS at school.” “Candace Jones wants to make YOU wear seatbelts.” The best is when you’re watching a college football game and you get ads for local races going on in completely different states. That’s the good stuff right there. I don’t live in Texas. I don’t need to know who Ken Paxton is. But I do, and I owe it all to watching the Texas Longhorns.
Slate Overview
As is custom, DraftKings and FanDuel are doing things differently with their main slates. Both slates start at 7:30 PM ET, but DK is only including the 5 games tipping off between 7:30 and 8:30. FD, meanwhile, tacked on the 2 later games at 9:00 and 10:00 ET, respectively. Rostering Nikola Jokic, for example, is a key decision point on FD that you won’t have to worry about on DK.
Tonight’s slate is also the first time we’ll have any teams playing on the latter halves of back-to-backs, so this could be the most news-heavy slate of the young campaign so far. As always, I’ll be here keeping you updated throughout the afternoon on the latest happenings and how they impact the slate. I will also be on Grinders Live with TJ and Chief in the hour leading up to lock, so tune in for final updates and, presumably, superhero movie talk.
