Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Friday, December 6th
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career and has long been one of the top NBA DFS minds in the industry. On weekends, Taylor Smith takes the reins. Their Core Plays LIVE article will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, Core Plays LIVE has everything you need for your DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
Happy Friday!
First of all, I want to give a big shoutout to one of the readers of this article. He sent me a message on Twitter and gave me quite a few ideas for my Elf on the Shelf. My favorite was having the elf fish in the toilet for goldfish. My little man is teetering on the edge of believing and not believing in Santa and the elf, so I want to make this a last fun year of Christmas magic if possible.
Now, let’s talk some basketball. We’ve had an awesome schedule so far this week. Rather than having a 2-game slate and then a 14-game slate, we’ve had slates between 6 and 10 games most of the week. For Friday night, we have 7 games on the schedule. The Bulls, Kings, Spurs, and Warriors are all playing on the second half of a back-to-back, while the Celtics are playing on the first half of a back-to-back.
Let’s start the weekend off with a big win in NBA DFS.

News Updates
1:10 PM ET – We have an update from the Celtics — Jayson Tatum and Al Horford will play, while Kristaps Porzingis has been ruled out. I don’t mind looking to Jrue Holiday for value in a revenge game, while Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White are best suited as tournament targets.
Team Previews
Orlando Magic (at PHI)
We kick the slate off with the Magic, who will once again be without Paolo Banchero and Gary Harris. They have a difficult matchup on the road against the Sixers, who are 29th in pace. This will likely be the slowest-paced game on the board. There’s not a ton to love here, but Franz Wagner has averaged 47 fantasy points with Banchero out of the lineup this season. The Magic went with a two-center starting lineup the other night, so we’ll see if that happens again. Wendell Carter and Goga Bitadze are both intriguing large-field tournament plays with Joel Embiid out for the Sixers.
Philadelphia 76ers (vs. ORL)
The Sixers will once again be without Joel Embiid and have listed Andre Drummond as questionable. They have a brutal matchup against the Magic, who are 25th in pace, 1st in points allowed per game, and 3rd in defensive rating. Paul George is really the only priority on the Sixers. He sees a nice usage boost with Embiid out and is coming off a solid performance on Tuesday night (52 fantasy points). KJ Martin played 29 minutes in his spot-start on Wednesday. He’ll likely start again if Drummond is out.
