Happy Friday!

It’s Super Bowl weekend… it’s WM Phoenix Open weekend… it’s an elite weekend all around. I’m also watching my nephew and doing some painting in my house. It turns out we might have to live at my current house until after our baby girl is born, so we are trying to fix it up as much as possible.

As far as the NBA goes, there are only 7 games on the schedule. FanDuel and DraftKings have both decided to leave the final game off the slate, so we have a 6-game main slate. Even better, there isn’t a single team playing on the second half of a back-to-back, and the trade deadline has come and gone. Maybe we’ll have a slow day of news for once.

Team Previews

Irving of the Mavericks

San Antonio Spurs (at CHA)

We kick off the slate with the Spurs, who should have everyone available against the Hornets. This is a mediocre matchup against the Hornets, who are a tougher matchup than you might expect. However, with De’Aaron Fox now on the roster, we can expect the Spurs to be better offensively. They come into this game with a team total that is 6 points higher than their season average. Speaking of Fox, he put up 58 fantasy points in his San Antonio debut. He’s at least worth a look in tournaments. Victor Wembanyama is always viable in GPPs given his high ceiling. His matchup is improved with Mark Williams no longer on the Hornets.

Charlotte Hornets (vs. SAS)

The Hornets draw a mediocre matchup against the Spurs and have a team total that is identical to their season average. Grant Williams, Cam Reddish, Brandon Miller, Josh Okogie, Tre Mann, and Josh Green are all expected out, while LaMelo Ball, Jusuf Nurkic, and Dalton Knecht are all questionable. There’s not much we can do until we have a clearer picture of the injury situation for the Hornets. We’ll break it all down on Crunch Time tonight.
