Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Saturday, May 10th
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career and has long been one of the top NBA DFS minds in the industry. On weekends, Taylor Smith takes the reins. Their Core Plays LIVE article will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, Core Plays LIVE has everything you need for your DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
Happy weekend! We’re looking at another 2-gamer in the NBA playoff streets this fine Saturday. The Celtics will look to bounce back after dropping Games 1 and 2 in Boston as the series shifts to New York City for Game 3. In the nightcap, the Wolves and Warriors will play Game 3 in San Francisco with their series knotted at a game apiece.
As always, I’ve got you covered with all the goings-on between now and lock. We don’t have any players coming into the day with questionable tags, so hopefully it’ll be a quiet day on the news front.
Let’s dive in.

Team Previews
Boston Celtics (at NYK)
As mentioned, the champs are in an 0-2 hole as the series shifts to New York for tonight’s Game 3. Boston held big leads in each of the first 2 games, only to see them evaporate late. Oddsmakers aren’t out on Boston just yet, though, as the Celts are 6-point favorites tonight on the road, and their 105.75 implied team total is the highest of the 4 teams in action.
Sam Hauser is doubtful for this one, but he is the only name on Boston’s injury report. The team is in desperate need of a bounce-back effort from Jayson Tatum, who’s shot a combined 12-for-42 in the first 2 games. Not great, Bob! He’s predictably leading the Celtics in usage (31.4%) in the playoffs, though Jaylen Brown (29.3%) isn’t far behind. Both stars look a bit underpriced, and both should be pretty popular on such a small slate. I don’t mind pairing them even in GPP lineups considering the discounts, though I’ll continue to side with Tatum if I’m only rostering one of them. Derrick White (0.97 FP/minute) has been Boston’s best player in this series, and it’s fair to assume he’ll top 40 minutes in a 3rd straight game with the Celtics’ season essentially hanging in the balance. White projects almost identically to Brown from a median standpoint, yet we’re getting a slight discount with White.
Elder statesmen Jrue Holiday and Al Horford are both solid bets to top 30 minutes, but both have played very low-usage roles in the postseason. Holiday’s usage rate is around 15%, while Horford’s is just over 11%. Horford drew a surprise start in Game 2 over an ailing Kristaps Porzingis. I don’t think either is a must-have value play by any means, but they’re cheap enough to be viable filler options. Payton Pritchard has been a no-show in these playoffs, while it’s hard to have much faith in Porzingis as he continues to battle an illness. I’d have some interest in rolling the dice on KP in tournaments if we get word he’s feeling better, especially considering he’s down to $5,500 on DK.
