Happy Sunday! I want to thank the Washington Wizards for reading Core Plays LIVE yesterday. Nothing like a little bulletin board material to provide some winning motivation. The NBA is going big today with a whopping 12 games scattered throughout the day. DraftKings and FanDuel halved that total to get to their 6-game main slates tipping off at 7 PM ET. The final game doesn’t start until 9:30 ET, so it could be a late swapper depending on injury news.

Without further delay, let’s get right into the breakdowns.

Bane of the Grizzlies

Memphis Grizzlies (at WAS)

The Grizzlies picked up a very impressive win last night over the Celtics, and their reward is a date tonight with everyone’s favorite punching bag, the Wizards! Memphis could rest some of their regulars on the B2B, but as of now, we’re only expecting Luke Kennard, Zach Edey, Vince Williams Jr., and GG Jackson to remain out. Marcus Smart was horrid last night in 19 minutes amid an ankle injury, and he’s popping as an elite point-per-dollar play in a better spot tonight. If he’s chalky, I don’t love it. Ja Morant (1.5 FP/minute) has been incredible when healthy this season, while Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. have found their ceilings harder to come by with Ja in the lineup. Santi Aldama and Jay Huff are a couple of uncomfortable values grading out decently on DK. The Grizz would be easier plays to stomach if we get some injury news later on, even in the best matchup of all.
