NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, January 30

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Payton Pritchard
Dean78904: Payton Pritchard
ncorfield8k: Derrick White

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I love small-field tournaments. I’m going to eat the chalk with Boston, as it’s hard to envision Payton Pritchard and Derrick White failing without Jaylen Brown and in a nice matchup against the Kings. To get a little different, I want to be overweight on the BKN/UTA game. There are some intriguing options from Brooklyn with Michael Porter Jr. likely out, and the Jazz are in a great spot for DFS with Lauri Markkanen and Jusuf Nurkic out.

Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field tournaments. They will be popular, but I expect to play at least one of (if not both) Derrick White and Payton Pritchard in every lineup I make. If I somehow don’t play either, I’ll seek out Anfernee Simons. The slate is set up sorta like a doubleheader. There are 9 games, with 5 of those games locking in the 7:00-7:30 PM ET window. We then go dark until 9:00 PM ET when the second block of games tip off. The point is there is 90 minutes where potentially slate-changing news can drop. Oh, and two teams that actively want to lose (Brooklyn and Utah) are playing in this block. What I’m getting at is, if debating between two players, all things being equal, I prefer rostering the player who is playing in the later block, just in case something goofy happens and I want roster flexibility.

ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – I will be heavy on the BKN/UTA game, so I will naturally have late-swapability built into many of my lineups. I will likely have a good amount of Celtics chalk, but I will try not to be overweight, as the game has blowout potential.
