NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, March 13
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Jalen Brunson
Dean78904: Jalen Brunson
ncorfield8k: Amen Thompson
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. There are a lot of great plays in the early games, specifically on the Knicks. I am certainly going to eat a lot of chalk there, but I want to keep the light on for Amen Thompson and/or Kevin Durant in a matchup against the Pelicans. It’s a great spot on paper. They both project fairly well and would both see major boosts if Alperen Sengun ends up being out.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. Currently, I’m not seeing a ton of separation for me among the slate’s top spends, so I’ll be leaning on pOWN% more than I typically would when it comes to tournaments. The Pistons are 16-point favorites vs. the tanking Grizzlies. Detroit has Q tags for both Tobias Harris and Jalen Duren. They probably don’t need them against Memphis, and if they sit out, multiple Detroit cheapies will get meaningful bumps and significantly impact the slate. Paul Reed, Isaiah Stewart, and Ronald Holland all have a chance to pop in our NBA DFS optimizer, LineupHQ, if news breaks a certain way.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – It’s a 5-game slate with all games starting within 30 minutes. We might have all the information by lock, but one piece we might not have is Alperen Sengun’s status. He’s currently questionable, and if he sits, we might get a starting Clint Capela at a huge ownership discount as players fill up their center spots with Mitchell Robinson and Marvin Bagley. If we don’t get news, I’ll save a spot for Capela in some lineups.
Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
