What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. I plan to have a lot of exposure to the Spurs. Victor Wembanyama and De’Aaron Fox are both out, yet the Spurs have a team total that is 4 points higher than their season average. I’ll likely have 2 or 3 players from San Antonio and will look to bring back that stack with Miles Bridges from the Hornets.
Dean78904: I mostly concentrate on single-entry and smaller-field contests. Two of the most popular teams on the slate are the Spurs and Cavs, as they are without key pieces. There is a chance I end up with 2-3 players on a lineup. If my build is Spurs-heavy, I will look to pair them with a key opponent (LaMelo Ball or Miles Bridges). I’ll apply the same principle with Cleveland. If I have a lineup with 2-3 Cavs, I’ll look to run it back with a member of the Grizzlies (I’m more motivated to do this if Jaren Jackson sits).
tcsmith031: I’ll play my usual mix of 20-max and single-entry contests. We’re going to have a boatload of cheap value available tonight thanks to injuries and tanking teams, and I’ll be diligent about setting rules to get a good mixture of these value plays without getting too chalky. With point guards looking particularly rife with quality chalk options (Chris Paul, Darius Garland, Stephon Castle, Jared Butler, etc.), I still want to flip the build and get some exposure to the potentially lower-owned expensive PGs, including Trae Young, LaMelo Ball, and Tyrese Haliburton in GPPs.
TJ Zwarych: I’ll be playing 150 lineups in large-field contests tonight, and I plan to cut the slate down and make it as small as possible. I’ll be completely crossing off the BOS/MIA and ORL/MIN games out of my pool on both FanDuel and DraftKings. I’ll make the Cleveland Cavaliers without Donovan Mitchell my primary target. And I’ll have at least one Cavalier in every single lineup, but most lineups will have at least two.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
