Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

tcsmith031: Reed Sheppard – Sheppard became an important player for the Rockets after the season-ending injury to Fred VanVleet. Sheppard got off to a tough start, but he’s bounced back in a big way. He’s now averaging a stellar 1.12 FP/minute, and he’s logged 24+ minutes off of the bench in each of his last 3 games. Sheppard should spend plenty of time on the floor against the Blazers’ dreadful second unit, and he should cook as Houston’s primary source of usage off of the bench. He can really crush his minutes projection if he closes the game, as he did a few days ago in Milwaukee.

Dean78904: Miles McBride – We are projecting McBride to start for the injured Jalen Brunson and play 30+ minutes. The Heat are an excellent matchup. Not only have they played at the NBA’s fastest pace, but they have also allowed the most 3-point attempts. This is ideal for McBride, as 71.1% of his points this season have come via the triple. You absolutely need McBride to make his shots to get you where you need to be, but there is upside for 5+ made 3s tonight.

ncorfield8k: Kevin Durant – In tight games, Durant has regularly played minutes in the upper-30s. Durant remains a strong per-minute producer, and this could be a high-scoring game with the Blazers, who have played at the 2nd-fastest pace in the league.

What is your hot take of the slate?
