What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. This is an UGLY slate, but it’s going to be ugly for everyone. I want to be overweight on the Warriors, who are in a good spot at home against the Heat. I usually don’t like playing Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler in the same lineup, but that strategy is certainly in play on this 4-game slate. To be different, I’m going to look to the Nets’ cheap values like Noah Clowney, Tyrese Martin, and Nolan Traore.
headChopper: I prefer small-field GPPs that have limited entries tonight. I haven’t finalized a lineup yet, but as I dig into the slate, I think I’m leaning toward a balanced build where the mid-$8,000 range on both sites ends up being my highest salary tier. I really like living in that midrange, with players like Jimmy Butler and Norman Powell. I’m not in love with either of the first two games (IND/PHI, PHX/BKN), so I may use those spots sparingly and leave plenty of roster flexibility to load up on the later games.
TJ Zwarych: On the smaller slate, I’ll just run 1 lineup in single-entry contests, and I like the idea of stacking up MIA/GS in the late-night hammer. To get different, I’ll avoid what is looking like a chalky Bam Adebayo and then load up on the rest of this game, playing both of the Warriors stars.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
