NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, May 4

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

Notorious: Jalen Brunson
headChopper: Jalen Brunson
TJ Zwarych: Jalen Brunson

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Notorious: I like to play small-field tournaments. This is a tricky slate because we don’t have a ton of value, and we don’t know if Anthony Edwards and Ayo Dosunmu are going to suit up in the late game. I personally think the first game is going to be more competitive, so I’m going to be overweight on it, even though I could miss out on some great value plays if Edwards and Dosunmu are eventually ruled out after lock.

headChopper: I am playing 20 lineups on each site in large-field GPPs. I want to try and guess the first matchups in the series and hope I am right and on an island before the masses catch on and/or coaches make adjustments. My plan is simple: throw out just about everything I saw in Round 1 from all these teams and try to guess what will happen in this round based on these matchups. So I am doing things like less Karl-Anthony Towns, more Jalen Brunson, less De’Aaron Fox, more Stephon Castle, and things like that. I am forgiving guys who had bad 1st rounds because this could very well be their round (looking at you, Mikal Bridges).

TJ Zwarych: I’ll just be playing one lineup in single-entry contests, and I plan to stack up the PHI/NYK game. I think the other series will be far more physical and low-scoring, and I want to get on this matchup early while the prices are still really low. Joel Embiid and Jalen Brunson will be my priorities, then I’ll mix and match with some of the salary savers.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
