What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: We’re seeing lots of value on the Knicks and Magic, so I’ll make some rules to account for ownership. In our NBA DFS optimizer, LineupHQ, I’ll set a max-2 rule for the Desmond Bane / Jalen Suggs / Paolo Banchero trio, while I’ll do the same for the Mikal Bridges / OG Anunoby / Josh Hart group on the New York side. I’ll also shy away from playing negatively-correlated centers in the same lineup, so I’ll separate Wendell Carter Jr. from Goga Bitadze despite both players projecting well for the dollar.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 20-max contests on both sites. Although quite a few Knicks are showing up in the early optimals, Jalen Brunson is always a player I want to be overweight on, especially on 2-game slates. A couple of nights ago, we had a 2-game slate with NYK, and Brunson was only 20% owned in most contests. Both Brunson and OG Anunoby tend to come in lower owned, and I will be overweight on both. With Victor Wembanyama back, I will be looking to play very few Spurs.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll likely just play one lineup in single-entry contests, and I feel pretty comfortable avoiding the Spurs completely. If I were playing more lineups, I’d be tempted to take shots on Stephon Castle and De’Aaron Fox, but playing only one lineup, I’ll just hit the X button on the entire team.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
