What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: I’ll focus on single-entry GPPs. A balanced build looks viable given the current lack of cheap value, and it’ll be hard to avoid the Rockets’ primary pieces in a smash matchup against the Jazz. I’m still going to try to get over the field on some of the top stars, including Nikola Jokic, LeBron James, and LaMelo Ball. The Nets aren’t a fun team to trust, but Trendon Watford, Tyrese Martin, and Ziaire Williams are viable salary relief options that’ll make it easier to afford spending all the way up for the superstars.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry contests tonight. I will be very overweight on HOU, as they get an elite matchup against UTA. I will be building around Amen Thompson, Jalen Green, and Jabari Smith as a core and then looking to get one of Nikola Jokic, LaMelo Ball, or LeBron James in my lineup. I will also be looking to get lower-owned guys like Quentin Grimes and Scoot Henderson (FD) into my lineup to get different from the field.

TJ Zwarych: I’m playing 150 lineups in large-field GPPs tonight, and similar to my colleagues, I plan to get as overweight as possible on the Rockets in a smash spot against the Jazz on a small slate. They’ll be my primary targets, and then I’ll utilize the Brooklyn value to play as much Nikola Jokic as I possibly can.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
