What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: I’ll run out some single-entry lineups. The Wizards’ rotation has been wildly unpredictable of late, so I’m reluctant to roster cheapies like Tristan Vukcevic, AJ Johnson, and Jaylen Martin if they’re projected to be popular. There’s even more uncertainty in a tank-off against Brooklyn. I’m more comfortable taking shots on value pieces from the Nets and Heat given the injuries with which both teams are dealing.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry contests. Even though there is plenty of value in a team like Washington, I will be looking to be underweight on them and overweight on Miami as a whole, with Davion Mitchell being one of my favorite value plays. Josh Giddey is also my top core play, and I plan on locking him in and building around him. I also like getting to guys like Quentin Grimes, who is projecting for very low single-digit ownership, to get different in my single-entry build.

ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments. The value currently on this slate is pretty suspect, so I will avoid locking in questionable value early. This looks like a slate where my lineups will be more balanced, but I’ll always be looking for late swap opportunities.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll stick to MME in large-field contests, but I plan on taking a few very heavy stands. I’m going to narrow my pool down as tightly as I possibly can, while locking in Josh Giddey and playing at least one of Coby White and Nikola Vucevic in every single lineup.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
