What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: I generally prefer single-entry GPPs on smaller slates, so that’s where my focus will be tonight. This slate has very shaky cheap value as of now, especially on DK. Giannis Antetokounmpo gets a dream matchup against the Wizards, but it’s difficult to comfortably afford him thanks to the lack of quality punt options. I may try to build around one of the expensive point guards – Kyrie Irving or Damian Lillard – and roll with a more balanced build.

Krayton: I will be playing single-entry and 3-entry max, and on FanDuel, I will be looking to be overweight on the ATL/CHA game, with Brandon Miller being a core player I am building around. On DK, I will be getting heavy exposure to Dallas, with Luka Doncic and Klay Thompson still out, and then filling in with the GSW/PHO game. I like getting more exposure to Devin Booker and Steph Curry at lower ownership, and I will be underweight on Giannis Antetokounmpo in tournaments.

ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – It’s a shorter slate, so I’ll loosen up some of my usual rules, such as allowing for more players from a single team (probably max 4). I’ll also play more game stacks in hopes that one game goes to overtime or simply separates from the rest in terms of pace. I like the idea of stacking up GSW/PHX the best, but I also think MIL/WAS game stacks are interesting, because although the game will likely be a blowout, it has enormous potential if the Wizards can keep it close.

TJ Zwarych: It’s tougher to do on FanDuel where the first game of the slate looks great for fantasy production, but on DK where CHA/ATL isn’t on the slate, I love the idea of running 150 lineups and backloading them waiting for news in the GSW/PHX game. Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Bradley Beal, and Jusuf Nurkic are all currently listed as questionable, so there’s a lot of potential value that could open up. If it doesn’t, there’s still the Dallas game afterward, so it allows you to overload on one of the best teams in the slate.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
