NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, April 19

Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?

tcsmith031: Jayson Tatum
Krayton: Jayson Tatum
TJ Zwarych: Jayson Tatum

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

tcsmith031: I’ll play single-entry and 20-max tournaments. This is an ugly slate with a few potential blowouts, but the Suns are the team in which I have the least interest in a brutal matchup at OKC. The cheap value isn’t great, but I’m still inclined to try and jam Victor Wembanyama into as many lineups as possible. He can still put up a useful fantasy score even if he only plays 30 minutes, while he can completely nuke the slate if their game is competitive.

Krayton: I will be playing just 1 lineup on both sites in single-entry, smaller-field contests. Victor Wembanyama is the player I will be building around, and even if I was playing my usual 20-max contests, I would lock him in. His upside now that we are in playoffs is too good to pass up, even though we have other elite spend-up options (e.g. Tyrese Maxey, Jayson Tatum). His minutes should be good, and his upside for blocks and steals is the best on the slate by far.

TJ Zwarych: I’ll just be playing 1 lineup in single-entry contests, and I plan to build around Jayson Tatum and Tyrese Maxey in the PHI/BOS game. I don’t love stacking up the entire game because of the low total, so I’ll stick with the two underpriced studs while getting cheap value from the Thunder and Spurs.

Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
