NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, April 2
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Deni Avdija
headChopper: Deni Avdija
TJ Zwarych: Deni Avdija
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. The Blazers are the only team on the entire slate that has a team total that is higher than their average points per game this season. That’s extremely rare at this point of the season and shows how many good defensive teams are on the schedule. I’m planning to load up on Portland in my main lineup. With a lack of value, it’s hard to afford the likes of Luka Doncic and Victor Wembanyama, so I’ll likely roll out more of a balanced lineup.
headChopper: Small-field contests with limited entries. Other than the Cleveland game, I think we get 5 other competitive games, with 4 of them having spreads of 6.5 or less and the 5th being the LAL/OKC clash. So, I think all games are on the table for DFS and can be safely rostered. All totals range from 223 to 233, so there isn’t a lot of separation there. Portland is still fighting for something, and New Orleans has no reason to tank and has been playing okay, so that’s a game I want to target for DFS.
TJ Zwarych: My preference tonight is to play 150 lineups in large-field GPPs, and I want to be really overweight on Portland, except for the chalky Toumani Camara, who, despite some strong recent performances, has never been a strong point-per-minute producer. I’ll likely be building in the mid-range, fading the likes of Luka Doncic and Victor Wembanyama due to the lack of cheap value.
Who is your favorite contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
