What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. There are two spots in particular that I want to be overweight. The Spurs are without Victor Wembanyama (out for the season unfortunately), yet they still have a team total that is higher than their season average. The Knicks are without Josh Hart and still have a team total that is 9 points higher than their season average. I want to be overweight on both teams on this slate.
headChopper: With the return from the All-Star Break and a solid 9-game slate right out of the gate, this is a great spot for large-field multi-entry tournaments. However, with games spread out across 3 hours, I’ll be playing just 1 entry in large-field contests, as I don’t have the bandwidth to monitor injuries the way you need to with 150 lineups. It looks like Nikola Jokic will be far less owned than expected for the highest-projected player, making him my top priority in large-field GPPs. I’ll also look to get different by being underweight on some of the cheap Spurs chalk.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. With teams getting a chance to get healthy over the All-Star Break, we’re looking at a 9-game slate without a ton of good math plays. San Antonio will be without Victor Wembanyama, and the Knicks, who have a glorious matchup vs. Chicago, won’t have Josh Hart. I plan on leaning in here and will likely have lineups with multiple Knicks and Spurs. I expect to play at least one of Jalen Brunson or Karl-Anthony Towns in every lineup.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
