NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, March 5
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Paolo Banchero
headChopper: Paolo Banchero
Dean78904: Paolo Banchero
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. We have an extremely interesting game tonight between the Jazz and Wizards. This is easily the best game environment on the board, as these are fast-paced teams who are 29th and 30th in points allowed per game. However, very few will likely be looking to target this game because both teams want to lose and have been limiting the minutes of their best players. I think we see several big fantasy outings here; we just have to figure out where they are going to come from. I personally like Ace Bailey, Julian Reese, and Will Riley.
headChopper: I am playing 1 lineup in small-field tournaments. With the slate being 6 games and all starting within an hour of each other, I don’t mind multi-entering tonight, but I want to stick with my process. If I were multi-entering, I would make sure I had game stacks in some lineups of various combinations of the UTA/WAS game, which has a total 15 points higher than any other game. I would also have some lineups where I eliminated that game from my pool altogether and built with no Wizards or Jazz players. That’s a viable tournament strategy for a game like that. With only 1 lineup though, I won’t worry about team totals and spreads as much – I am just trying to assemble a safe, solid lineup that still has upside.
Dean78904: I mostly focus on single-entry and smaller-field contests. I’m targeting Florida, as I expect to play at least one player from both Orlando and Miami in every lineup I make. I also want to point out that Houston can fully flip this slate, as Alperen Sengun, Amen Thompson, and Jabari Smith Jr. are all questionable as of early afternoon. For Houston, tonight is the start of 3 games in 4 nights and an even more daunting 5 games in 7 nights. I have no clue who, if anyone, sits tonight, but I’m expecting Houston to try and get their key guys calculated rest during this stretch.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
