NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, November 5
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Franz Wagner (FD) / Bam Adebayo (DK)
headChopper: Franz Wagner
TastefulTides: Stephen Curry
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents in the tournaments you will be playing? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: With only 2 games on the schedule, key players from all teams are going to soak up a bunch of ownership. My plan is fairly simple: I am going to fully fade Devin Booker and Jalen Green. Their projections are boosted by their long-term rates, but they have both struggled to show any type of upside this season. Booker has been held under 40 fantasy points in all but 1 game, and Green has been held under 20 fantasy points in 3 of 6 games.
headChopper: On a 2-game slate the chalk is going to be extremely condensed, with Franz Wagner, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo, and Stephen Curry all projecting for heavy ownership, especially on FanDuel. I’m not going to fight all of it, but I do want to pick my spots. All four defenses on this slate rank in the bottom 8 in defensive rating, so there’s upside everywhere, but MIA/GSW should be the faster game, with the Heat playing at the 2nd-fastest pace in the league this season. Golden State is projected as one of the lower-owned teams on both sites, so that’s where I’ll look to get different. I’ll be a bit lighter on the Heat side, where the ownership is piling up. With so few games, I’ll also focus on unique salary structures rather than just fading popular players.
TastefulTides: With only 2 games on the slate, it’s really hard to find separation. I am going to lean into the MIA/GSW game more heavily than the ORL/PHX game. If that means I have to be underweight on Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr., so be it. They certainly aren’t bad plays, but you can’t just play everyone. You have to take stands on very small slates.
Who is your favorite play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
