What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
Notorious: I prefer small-field and single-entry tournaments. Donovan Mitchell is my flag plant of the slate. He injured his ankle and only played 20 minutes in Game 4, but the Cavaliers were down 30+ points and didn’t need him to come back. He went through shootaround this morning, so I’m expecting him to be active in tonight’s elimination game at home. He’s my favorite way to be different.
headChopper: Small fields with limited entries are my preferred contests. I really want to pull the trigger on a low-pOWN% Nikola Jokic, but he looks worn down, and I might save that bullet for when he’s back home for Game 6. Currently, my biggest difference-maker is Tyrese Haliburton. His early projected ownership is very low, likely because of back-to-back duds with limited minutes, but he was incredible in the first 2 games of the series—both on the road, when Indiana needed their star to step up. Building around Haliburton and mixing in some Cavs players, while hoping for a blowout that limits minutes for Nuggets and Thunder studs, feels like a viable GPP-winning path.
ncorfield8k: Large-field tournaments – As we get deeper into playoff series, I often like to target players who have been struggling but continue to see opportunities. Even in the NBA, and in the same matchups, there can be massive game-to-game variance in how players perform, but players see their ownership drop considerably as DFS players watch them struggle. I’ll also game stack more than usual.
