NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, April 5

Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

tcsmith031: Josh Giddey – On a massive slate with lots of moving parts, it’s possible that Giddey could slip through the cracks. OKC is expected to be without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams again, which means Giddey (1.21 FP/minute) should initiate most of the offense for the Thunder. They draw an advantageous matchup here against a fast-paced Indiana side, and Giddey has a path to 30+ minutes with the team down a couple of stars.

squirrelpatrol: Victor Wembanyama – We only have Wembanyama projected for single-digit ownership, but he has repeatedly shown that he can break any slate no matter his price. He is averaging 31.7 points, 14.7 rebounds, and 4.3 blocks per game over his past 3 games and is showing that he can put up a monster score in any matchup, even when he doesn’t play large minutes.

eys819: Jalen Brunson – He is coming off a 35-point double-double performance against the Kings last night. The back-to-back is not ideal, and neither is the matchup against Chicago, but the pOWN% is very intriguing. Both of these teams play slow, so there won’t be a ton of possessions. Brunson has the potential to play 40 minutes on a given night, has an elite usage rate, and the Bulls rank just 20th in defensive efficiency. There is more upside here than the pOWN% suggests.

Bobby Gomes: Pascal Siakam – Going right back to the well with Siakam, as his price remains beautiful given his stable floor and upside for 50+ fantasy points. He’ll likely go overlooked in a game that should play fast and close. His usage rate is over 27%, and he continues to get it done consistently at both ends of the court.
