NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, February 2
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Domantas Sabonis
squirrelpatrol: Domantas Sabonis (FD) / Fred VanVleet (DK)
eys819: Domantas Sabonis (FD) / Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (DK)
Bobby Gomes: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?
Notorious: Outside of Domantas Sabonis, I’m going to keep my exposure to the first 4 games pretty light. There are some big injuries in the later games that could really open up some strong plays — Zion Williamson, Rudy Gobert, Alperen Sengun, Jakob Poeltl, Immanuel Quickley, and RJ Barrett are all listed as questionable. This is a slate where roster flexibility could be key.
squirrelpatrol: The six teams that allow the most points per game in the NBA are all on the slate tonight: Washington, Atlanta, Indiana, Detroit, San Antonio, and Charlotte (in order from most points to least). The SAC/IND and PHX/ATL games in particular stand out with totals nearly 10 points higher than every other game and 35+ points higher than the ORL/MIN game.
eys819: The Raptors have posted a bottom-5 defensive rating since trading away OG Anunoby just over a month ago. Fred VanVleet is likely to garner some ownership with the revenge narrative (and he’s underpriced on DK), but the other Rockets have some very attractive pOWN%. Additionally, Alperen Sengun is listed questionable on the injury report, and we may not have that news by lock. I will be making sure my pre-lock build includes some Jabari Smith and Jalen Green.
Bobby Gomes: The highest total (248.5) on the slate comes from the PHX/ATL game. The Suns and Hawks are both top 12 in offensive rating and pace, and the Suns are bottom 5 in defensive rating. This should play fast and loose with numerous pieces on both sides in play. The SAC/IND game is also jumping out, as the Kings are 2.5-point road favorites in a pace-up spot against the 2nd-fastest team in the league. It’ll be tough to click on Tyrese Haliburton, as he has a minutes restriction, but there are ancillary pieces on both sides, and Domantas Sabonis should feast on Narrative Street.
