NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Sunday, December 31

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

tcsmith031: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has finished with fewer than 50 DK points just once in his last 11 games. He’s scored fewer than 30 real-life points just once in the same span.

Krayton: Anthony Davis is leading the NBA in rebounds per game (12.4), is 12th in total points (781), and is 4th in total blocks (78). He continues to put up huge numbers on a nightly basis alongside LeBron James and is now averaging 1.5 DK fantasy points per minute. He is one of my favorite GPP plays, especially on DK at only $10,100.

TastefulTides: This is a huge pace-up spot for the Celtics, who rank 25th in pace, while the Spurs rank 3rd. The Spurs also have the 6th-worst defensive rating. The 14.5-point spread makes me a little nervous to get multiple Celtics, but getting exposure to Boston is important on this slate.

TJ Zwarych: I wouldn’t look to project a blowout on a bigger slate, but this is too juicy of a spot for the Celtics to ignore. Payton Pritchard and their bench aren’t popping due to small minutes projections, but if this game blows out, the Celtics bench could be the optimal place to find value.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Epignosis
Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
