NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, April 11
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Fred VanVleet
squirrelpatrol: DeMar DeRozan
headChopper: DeMar DeRozan
eys819: DeMar DeRozan
Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: De’Aaron Fox – Truth be told, I like all four of the superstars in this game (Fox, Domantas Sabonis, Zion Williamson, and CJ McCollum). Playoff seeding is on the line here, as the Pelicans and Kings are currently 6th and 8th, respectively, in the Western Conference standings. Fox has flashed a ton of upside in the second half of the season and should see a small boost with Kevin Huerter and Malik Monk both out. I expect him to push for 38-40 minutes in this one.
squirrelpatrol: Stephen Curry – We may not know the status of Klay Thompson and Draymond Green before lock, but either way, Golden State needs this game to move up from the 10th spot in the West. They are thankfully 14-point favorites on the road in Portland, but they may be shorthanded, and Curry has been ramping up his game in April, averaging 23.3 points, 6.5 assists, and 6.5 rebounds per game – his highest monthly averages for assists and rebounds this season.
headChopper: Zion Williamson – Early projected ownership on Zion looks low enough that on a slate of this size, he would be considered contrarian. Out of the 5 games tonight, you could make the case that 4 of them are meaningless, because in each of those games, there is a team with nothing to play for. This NOP/SAC game has a chance to be different though. The Kings are trying to avoid slipping to the #9 or #10 seed, which could mean an extra elimination game, and New Orleans is trying to hang on to an actual playoff spot and avoid the Play-In Tournament altogether. So, this game could be competitive, and Zion is the premier fantasy asset on this New Orleans team.
eys819: Coby White – He has been very inconsistent since his return from a mid-March injury, but the salary has fallen to a point where he could break a slate if he puts up a ceiling performance. He has returned to playing upper-30s minutes on a per-game basis, with upside for 40+ on any given night. I think he is cheap enough to pair with DeMar DeRozan, or he can be used as a pivot off of his more popular teammate.
