NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, February 1

Which useful trend or statistic stuck out most during your research?

Notorious: The Sixers-Jazz game starts a full two hours after the rest of the games on this slate. I plan to keep my options open for late swaps, as there are a number of injuries to monitor on the Sixers. Joel Embiid, De’Anthony Melton, and Robert Covington have all been ruled out. Marcus Morris is listed as doubtful. Tyrese Maxey and Nicolas Batum are both questionable. if Maxey is out, the Sixers should have several players exceed salary-based expectations. And if he’s active, he’s one of the top spends on the slate.

squirrelpatrol: Over every teams’ last eight games, the Lakers (1st), Utah (5th), and Indiana (9th) are all in the top 9 for pace in the NBA. Their respective opponents tonight – Boston (23rd), Philadelphia (24th), and New York (29th) – are in the bottom 8 for pace during that same stretch.

headChopper: It’s not the Pacers game but actually the LAL/BOS game that features the highest total on the night. Currently sitting at 241.5 on ScoresAndOdds, the Lakers’ average closing total this season has been a full 10 points lower (231.5). This is also the largest spread against them this season (+12) and the first time they have been a double-digit ‘dog.

eys819: The Knicks will again be without Julius Randle, and OG Anunoby is listed as questionable on the injury report. In the last 2 games without Randle and Anunoby, Donte DiVincenzo has posted per-game averages of 40.6 minutes, 27.9% usage, 30.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 4.5 assists.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?

Robert Brown (Epignosis)

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
