NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, January 11

Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?

tcsmith031: Isaiah Hartenstein – This isn’t the deepest slate for centers, though Hartenstein still isn’t currently projected to garner a ton of ownership at his elevated salaries. Hartenstein has been outstanding (0.96 DK FP/minute) since Mitchell Robinson went down, and the Mavs have been getting crushed on the boards with Dereck Lively out of the lineup. As we’ve seen, Hartenstein still offers a nice ceiling, even with minimal usage in this offense.

squirrelpatrol: Damian Lillard – The NYK/DAL game might dominate ownership, but it’s worth looking at some of the other games. Boston allows the 3rd-fewest points per game in the NBA but the 8th-most 3-pointers made, meaning they are much more susceptible on the perimeter. I’ll aim to be overweight Damian Lillard in the hopes that his shot is falling from long range.

headChopper: Jayson Tatum – Great pace and soft defense here for Tatum to take advantage of. His ownership projects to be low again, and with Al Horford missing, he could pick up some extra minutes and shot attempts.

eys819: Anthony Davis – Kyrie Irving, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Brunson, and Julius Randle all should be more popular as spend-up options, but AD has as much upside as anyone on the slate. He has been playing roughly 40 minutes every night and has posted 1.51 FD / 1.49 DK points per minute this season. He should be in line for another huge workload in a matchup with the Suns and a 1-point spread in the game.

Who is your top overall play (when considering price, matchup, roster construction, etc.) on the board and why?
