NBA DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, April 9
Who is your favorite player to spend up for in cash games?
Notorious: Luka Doncic
squirrelpatrol: Victor Wembanyama
headChopper: Jalen Brunson
Stevietpfl: Victor Wembanyama
Who is your top contrarian play (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
Notorious: Naz Reid – With so many good values at center, this is a position where a lot of players are going to get overlooked. Reid has been starting with KAT out and has been making the most of his opportunities. He has averaged 42 fantasy points over his last 4 games. He draws an elite matchup at home against the Wizards, who are 1st in pace, 30th in rebounding rate, and 28th in defensive rating. If any starter is going to see some garbage time run for Minnesota, it will likely be Reid.
squirrelpatrol: Pascal Siakam – Siakam is returning to Toronto again, and he has averaged 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game against his old team in the 2 games since the trade. The high production likely isn’t due as much to revenge as it is to the Raptors allowing the 2nd-most rebounds and the 5th-most points in the paint per game since the All-Star Break.
headChopper: Grant Williams – For me, this last week is more about teams/players needing to win and narratives than it is about raw stats and projections. Williams is a player that is priced below the average cost of a roster spot on each site, comes in at a nice projection, and with so many games, I think the ownership ends up on the lower end than currently projected. Then the narrative kicks in. Williams was banished from Dallas earlier this season and then afterwards was put on blast as a bad teammate. He strikes me as a guy who holds grudges, so let’s see if he funnels that aggression to playing well before he inevitably gets ejected for something dirty.
Stevietpfl: Anthony Edwards – It’s that time of the season when we pay attention to NBA standings. Minnesota, Denver, and Oklahoma City are all within 1 game of each other for the #1 seed in the West. Washington is one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA, and they play at a fast pace. This is a great spot for Edwards, and if Washington can keep this game close, Edwards has a massive ceiling.
