How does Terrence Shannon entering the rotation in Game 3 affect how you’re approaching the rest of the Minnesota role players?

Notorious: I’m not putting too much stock into Shannon entering the rotation in Game 3. He saw 4 minutes in the 1st half and would have likely seen around 4 minutes in the 2nd half if the game didn’t turn into a blowout. With that said, he is a high-usage player, and the Wolves did win Game 3, so there’s certainly a path for him to see 8-10 minutes at low ownership. If I played large-field GPPs, I would keep him in my player pool.

headChopper: Much like the Knicks last night giving real, high-leverage minutes to Landry Shamet and Delon Wright, I think teams in desperation mode are willing to pull the trigger on unexpected rotation shifts. The big question is whether the Timberwolves still feel that same desperation now that they’ve seemingly climbed back into the series. More often than not, some of that pressure eases, and the rotation reverts closer to what we saw in Games 1 and 2. It’s also worth noting that the entire 4th quarter for the Thunder in Game 3 was played by bench guys, and the Timberwolves followed suit a few minutes in. Someone could pop up for a few surprise minutes early if the game starts to get away from one side, but I’m not putting much weight on the Game 3 rotation patterns—I don’t think the same mindset will be there for Minnesota tonight.

TJ Zwarych: Given that the last game was a complete blowout, I don’t want to overemphasize the 2nd-half rotations, and I anticipate that the Thunder will perform well today. Having said that, it’s worth noting that Rudy Gobert has seen increased minutes in back-to-back games, even with the Wolves blowing out the Thunder in the last one. I think he or Naz Reid end up optimal for their prices, and I’ll make sure to play one of them in every lineup.
