So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Happy Friday, everyone! In my humble opinion, the best Fridays are the ones that sneak up on you. With the NBA schedule this week starting yesterday, today feels more like a Tuesday. The fact that it’s Friday is a nice bonus. Let’s try to head into the weekend with a nice night of NBA DFS.
There are 8 games on the schedule tonight, and 4 of those games start at 10:00 PM ET or later. With the other 6 games starting within 30 minutes of each other, the schedule sets up very well for a 6-game main slate and a 4-game late slate. However, things are never simple around here. While DraftKings did split up the schedule into two different slates, FanDuel is rolling out all 10 games on their main slate. This makes it a little more difficult on the content front, but we have you covered.

Team Previews
Toronto Raptors (at ATL): The Raptors are playing in the second half of a back-to-back after a blowout win against the Nets last night. They have a quick turnaround and head to Atlanta to take on the Hawks. This is a favorable matchup for fantasy production, as Atlanta is 3rd in pace and 29th in defensive rating. The Raptors come into the game as 6.5-point underdogs but have a total that is 5.6 points higher than their season average. At the moment, Toronto doesn’t have anyone listed on the injury report. Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, and Jakob Poeltl all have positive RGValues this evening. I’ll give a slight lean to Quickley since he feels the most underpriced of the four. We can also look to Gary Trent for value, as he could see around 30 minutes at $4,300 on DraftKings.
Atlanta Hawks (vs. TOR): The Hawks are 7 games below .500 on the season but currently hold onto the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Tonight they draw a decent matchup against the Raptors, who have not been the same team defensively without OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam on the roster. The Hawks have a team of 125.5 points, which is the 2nd highest on the board and 4.5 points above their season average. Onyeka Okongwu is out, but that’s unlikely to result in more minutes for Clint Capela, who hasn’t seen the floor in nearly three weeks. The top targets here are in the backcourt, as Trae Young and Dejounte Murray both project well on a per-dollar basis.
