A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.

Happy weekend! Friday was another wild night in the NBA, as we had two players score at least 60 points in a game for the 2nd time this week. Luka Doncic scored 73 in the Mavs’ close win over the Hawks, while Devin Booker poured in 62 in the Suns’ loss in Indiana. We’ll see what craziness Saturday has in store. We do have a few afternoon games on the schedule, but we’re here to talk about the 6-game main slate that tips off at the usual 7 PM ET.

Quite a few teams from last night’s slate are back in action tonight, including Luka and the Mavs. As always, I’ll be here throughout the day to break down the latest news and update tags in LineupHQ accordingly. You can also catch me with Tim and TJ on Crunch Time before lock for final #takes.

News Updates

Here’s where you’ll find news updates, of course.

Team Previews

Utah Jazz (at CHA): The Jazz picked up a fairly easy win over the Wizards on Thursday, and they’re in yet another exploitable matchup tonight against a Hornets team playing for the 2nd time in as many nights. Utah is a hefty 10-point road favorite here with the highest total on the slate (122.75). This team isn’t as cheap on DraftKings as they were on Thursday when they were the value chalk du jour, but Lauri Markkanen ($8,300) and Jordan Clarkson ($6,600) still project as positive RGValues. Collin Sexton saw just 17 minutes in the last game, while Keyonte George logged 31 off the bench. The minutes are generally unpredictable in this rotation, but Walker Kessler ($4,700), John Collins ($5,400), Simone Fontecchio ($4,500), and Kelly Olynyk ($3,800) are all cheap enough on DK to offer paths to success individually.

Charlotte Hornets (vs. UTA): The Hornets got blasted by the Rockets last night, and we’ll see if anybody unexpected pops up on the injury report later. For now, they’re still without Mark Williams, Gordon Hayward, and Kyle Lowry. LaMelo Ball (+4.8%) gets a nice usage boost without Hayward, Williams, and Terry Rozier, as does Brandon Miller (+2.2%). Miles Bridges (38 projected) is the safest source of minutes on a nightly basis, while Nick Richards (1.08 FP/minute) is clearly too cheap on DK ($5,300) for his starting role. There’s payoff potential for some of these Hornets if they can manage to keep this game competitive.
