Core Plays LIVE: NBA DFS Picks for Sunday, May 10th

A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career. On weekends, Taylor Smith takes over. So, who better to walk you through the madness of NBA DFS slates on DraftKings and FanDuel? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best plays, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Happy Sunday! And, if you are a mother, Happy Mother’s Day. If you are not a mother, perhaps you’re looking forward to Father’s Day, which is just around the corner. If you’re not a father, and you’re not a mother, you probably have plenty of time to spend playing NBA DFS today.
This could be one of the season’s final multi-game slates. The Knicks will sweep the Sixers with a win in Philadelphia this afternoon, while the Timberwolves will look to even their series at 2-2 tonight at home against the Spurs. Both teams currently leading their respective series are favored to win their games today, though the point spreads are close.
If you need any last-minute guidance, be sure to find me along with TJ and Will on NBA GrindersLive at 2:30 PM ET for the hour leading up to the NYK/PHI game. Should be a fun day of hoops, so let’s get into it.

New York Knicks (at PHI)
The Knicks have been right there with the Thunder as the most impressive teams so far in the 2nd round. New York picked up a relatively easy win in Friday night’s Game 3, which was likely the 76ers’ best and last chance to make this a series. New York still has to win one more game to close it out, though they’ll have as many as four chances to do it. They’re listed as slight 1.5-point favorites in Philly this afternoon. OG Anunoby is questionable after missing Game 3 with a hamstring injury.
I’ll be a little surprised if Anunoby suits up today. It’s not believed to be a serious injury, but the Knicks don’t really have much of a need to rush him back just yet. Anunoby (0.96 DK FP/minute) has been terrific so far in the postseason, and he should see full minutes if he suits up. I think he’s still underpriced for his major offensive role if he returns to the lineup. If he doesn’t, Miles McBride will presumably draw another start. McBride (21 minutes) was outplayed by Landry Shamet (26 minutes off the bench) in Game 3. I’d still side with McBride as the better play if he starts given their similar salaries, though Shamet would be viable in that scenario as a straight-line pivot.
The Knicks appear poised for a potential Finals run in large part due to Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns both playing some of their best basketball of the season at the right time. KAT (1.44 FP/minute) has been particularly prolific with Anunoby on the bench, and we can attribute his weak 25-minute showing in Game 3 to foul trouble. Brunson (36.9%) continues to post huge usage rates in the playoffs. I would ordinarily be inclined to avoid playing both Brunson and Towns in the same GPP lineup, but I don’t think that kind of hard rule is as necessary on such a small slate. I like them both quite a bit, and Brunson’s $8,300 DK salary is just silly.
Mikal Bridges started the playoffs in a horrific slump, but he’s come around in a big way over the last 4 games. His minutes will be a lot more secure if OG is out again, but Bridges is affordable enough at $5,800 on both sites to be playable regardless. Josh Hart hasn’t shown much upside since the first couple of games of the Atlanta series. I wouldn’t say we’re getting much of a discount with Hart, but the SG/SF eligibility on DK comes in handy. Mitchell Robinson has a very narrow path to success in a low-minute backup role, but he’s affordable enough ($4,000 DK, $3,800 FD) to consider in GPPs.
