NBA DFS Core Plays LIVE: Thursday, December 14th
A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Happy Thursday everyone!
We had a fun slate last night. Giannis Antetokounmpo set the franchise record with 64 points, Anthony Davis and Victor Wembanyama put on a show in San Antonio, and the Wizards continue to give up an unreal number of points each game.
The lesson for today is to brush and floss your teeth. My little one started having a toothache yesterday at school and it got even worse at night. I’m now running on very little sleep and have to find a dentist who will take walk-ins for emergencies. Having kids is fun, they said.
While I try to figure out the dentist situation, let’s talk about tonight’s NBA slate. We have 7 games on the schedule, which is the perfect number for a DFS slate. There are enough options to spread out ownership and not too many that we feel overwhelmed. We have three teams playing in the second half of a back-to-back.
Our Christmas countdown is officially at 11 days.

Team Previews
Cleveland Cavaliers (at BOS): We kick off the slate with a rematch between the Cavaliers and Celtics. These teams faced each other in Boston on Tuesday and will do it again tonight. This is far from an ideal spot for Cleveland, as the Celtics are ranked 23rd in pace and 4th in defensive rating this season. The Cavaliers will be without Evan Mobley once again and come into the game with a team total that is 2.1 points below their season average. Donovan Mitchell played fairly well against Boston on Tuesday and has topped 54 fantasy points in 3 of his last 7 games if you want to look his way in tournaments. Here’s the CourtIQ query with Mobley off the floor this season:
