Happy Wednesday!

We are halfway to the weekend, which is always a good feeling. It’s also PGA TOUR eve, which is an even better feeling. The NBA All-Star Break is quickly approaching. There are 14 games on the schedule tonight and 3 games on the schedule tomorrow night. After that, we don’t have any games until next Thursday. I’m going to enjoy the break, but I’m sure I’ll be itching to get back at it after a few days of no basketball.

In a strange twist, DraftKings has included 3 of the late games on its main slate, while FanDuel has kept them off of their main slate. This means that we have 13 games on the DraftKings slate and 10 games on the FanDuel slate. There’s a ton to cover today, so let’s dive right into the team previews.

Team Previews

Walker of the Hawks

Atlanta Hawks (at CHA)

We kick off tonight’s massive slate with the Hawks, who have a below-average matchup against the Hornets. On the season, Charlotte is ranked 25th in pace and 11th in points allowed per game. Atlanta’s team total is 4 points lower than their season average. Jonathan Kuminga is out, while Jalen Johnson, Dyson Daniels, and Zaccharie Risacher are questionable.

With this being the first game of the slate, we might as well take a wait-and-see approach until we know the availability of Johnson, Daniels, and Risacher. If they are all active, Johnson will be the only intriguing option here. However, if one, two, or all three end up being out, then some serious value will open up on the Hawks.

Charlotte Hornets (vs. ATL)

The Hornets have an exploitable matchup against the Hawks, who are 2nd in pace and 24th in points allowed per game. Charlotte’s team total is 4 points higher than their season average. Coby White is out, while Moussa Diabate and Miles Bridges have both been suspended.

LaMelo Ball is one of my favorite tournament plays tonight. His efficiency has been down recently, but he has averaged 30 minutes over his last 5 games. We know he’s capable of being hyper-efficient, especially in a matchup like this one. Kon Knueppel has been volatile recently, but he has scored over 40 fantasy points in 2 of his last 5 games and is affordable on DraftKings. Brandon Miller is a high-usage player who has played at least 34 minutes in 4 of the last 5 games. With Bridges out, the offense should flow through these three players. With Diabate out, Ryan Kalkbrenner makes for a nice value play.
