NBA DFS Core Plays LIVE: Wednesday, February 14th

A daily fantasy sports OG, Notorious has been roaming the DFS streets ever since they were invented. He has racked up multiple live final seats and several six-figure tournament wins in his DFS career, and Noto will mix it up in all different types of contests. So, who better to walk you through the madness of an NBA DFS slate? Core Plays LIVE will zoom out on the slate as a whole, zoom in on the best NBA DFS picks, and constantly update as news breaks. Whether you are diving into the slate 5 hours before it starts or 5 minutes before it starts, you’ve come to the right place.
Not only a happy Wednesday to you but a Happy Valentine’s Day!
I always enjoyed the holiday more as a kid than as an adult. I would always build some cool Valentine’s box that had something to do with sports and then doubled down by handing out Valentine’s that had something to do with sports or Ninja Turtles. As you grow older and get into a relationship, it just turns into a mandated date night. I’m not going to lie; I do not miss Valentine’s and anniversaries now that I’m no longer married. Perhaps next year, I will be singing a different tune, but I am enjoying the single life for now. For those of you with a significant other, my advice is to do a little more than required today. It all adds up in the long run.
Enough about love and enough about me. Let’s talk about tonight’s NBA slate. There are a whopping 13 games on the schedule. In a strange twist, FanDuel has decided to keep all 13 games on their main slate, while DraftKings has every game but the final one on their main slate. I’m sure the significant others of DFS players across the world are going to love the constant checking for injuries and potential late swaps. I do miss the days when all games would lock at the same time. There are so many instances in life that require our attention for longer than 30 minutes. It would be nice not to worry about our DFS lineups being dead if we step away from our phones for a bit.
Happy Valentine’s Day, happy Tiger Woods day tomorrow, and happy All-Star break this weekend. Life is good!

News Updates
12:00 PM ET – I get the feeling there are going to be a ton of injury updates today. Rather than covering them all individually, I will do an update every couple of hours with batches of injury news. Then, as we get within an hour of lineup lock, I’ll update this section as soon as any news is released. For this first update, Darius Garland is now questionable for the Cavaliers, and Kyle Kuzma is now questionable for the Wizards.
Team Previews
New York Knicks (at ORL): I will try to keep these team previews short and sweet, as we have 26 teams to cover today. The Knicks have a difficult matchup against the Magic in what should be the slowest-paced game on the schedule. Their implied total is 9.1 points below their season average. Julius Randle and OG Anunoby have already been ruled out, while Isaiah Hartenstein and Donte DiVincenzo are both listed as questionable. Despite all the injuries, there’s not a single player with a positive RGValue at the moment. That could change if Hartenstein and/or DiVincenzo end up being out, but there are certainly better game environments to target tonight.
Orlando Magic (vs. NYK): The Magic are playing at home but draw one of the toughest matchups on the board. Their implied total tonight against the Knicks is 3.3 points below their season average. To make matters worse, they are playing in the second half of a back-to-back and will likely be at full strength (with the exception of Markelle Fultz). Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner both have positive RGValues, but they don’t compare to many of the other options on this slate. Jonathan Isaac is my favorite play here, as he should see minutes in the 20s at a price of only $3,500 on DraftKings.
