San Antonio

This will be a very interesting first game on the slate, as the Spurs take on the Celtics. This game pits the Spurs, who allow the lowest points per game (92.7), and the Celtics, who allow the 28th most (107.3). Vegas thinks the game will get sped up today, as the Spurs are 7’ point favorites in a game with a 205’ total. It is always difficult to play these Spurs this year, but they look to be in a good spot.

Elite Plays

Kawhi Leonard – A fast paced matchup against the Celtics should set up perfectly for Leonard. He is the most consistent option for the Spurs, as he has only one dud game in his last 10. He makes a great cash game play today.

Secondary Plays

Tony Parker – Tony has stepped up his game a bit recently. He has 33+ FD points in each of his last 4 games. With the matchup, I think he should be able to match those numbers today.

Boston

That 28th in the league points against has quickly turned into a 4-9 record for the Celtics. They have some good young talent, but cannot seem to put it all together. Regardless of team records though, they have some very good fantasy potential players each and every night due to their 100+ pace.

Elite Plays

Jared Sullinger- Sullinger has really stepped his game up this year. After 13 games, he is averaging 16 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. I expect him to have a good game against Duncan today and the Spurs, who rank 24th in the league against the PF position.

Secondary Plays

Rajon Rondo – I put him in the secondary plays section because of his price and the fact that there are other PGs today that can match up his value. He could easily go off and have a triple double, which is why Rondo is a great GPP play today.

Chicago

Chicago becomes a tougher team to trust since their players have come back from injury. At this point, it looks like they will be close to full strength with just a Taj Gibson absence. I don’t like Butler as much, as his price has risen with Rose out, and he gives up a lot of usage as Rose comes back into the lineup. The game should be close, with a 3 point spread and a total of 195.

Elite Plays

Pau Gasol – You may be able to play the Gasol brothers together, as they both have good matchups and could dominate today. With Taj out, Gasol’s minutes are guaranteed. He is expensive, but should be in store for a big game.

Joakim Noah- The other guy that gets a clear bump is Noah. The two bigs should be in store for great games and I don’t think Lopez has a chance inside against Noah. He came back Friday to play 35 minutes and score 49.8 FD points. Lock him in.

Secondary Plays

None

Brooklyn

The Nets should be well rested for this game, as they have not played since Wednesday. With that said, the Nets are 6-8 on the season and are home underdogs against a good Bulls squad. The Nets are middle of the road in the both points allowed and points scored and are a team that lacks very many fantasy worthy plays, especially when matched up against a good defensive squad.

Elite Plays

None

Secondary Plays

Deron Williams – I do like DWill in this game, and he has really stepped up his game in their last two. He is the most consistent option for this Nets squad and he has a decent matchup against Rose, who has not looked great on the defensive end so far this year.

Golden State

Golden State is such a good team this year that it has been a problem for fantasy purposes at times, as they have blown so many opponents out. This game could be another one of those blowouts, as they take on a Pistons squad who has been bad this year. The high scoring Warriors are 13-2 this year and have put up the third most points in the league.

Elite Plays

Stephen Curry – This is a tough one and I wanted to put him into the secondary section due to a blowout chance, but I could not because I could also see him go off in this one in the time he gets. He will either be matched up against Augustin or Jennings, which means a huge game could be in store. I think Curry makes a great GPP play today.

Secondary Plays

None – The blowout kind of scares me off anyone. I could see taking a GPP flyer on Speights if he is cheap.

Detroit

Detroit has been awful this year, as they have struggled to a 3-13 record. It is going to be difficult for them to right the ship today as 8’ point underdogs in a game with a total of 200’. We have to keep our eye out for injury updates as the news report says that Jennings practiced yesterday, but did not shoot. That is a bit tough to read into, since shooting was the issue for him.

Elite Plays

D.J. Augustin- If Jennings is out, Augustin makes a great play.

Secondary Plays

Josh SmithGPP only play today, but Smith is capable of putting up monster games in matchups like this.

Memphis

Memphis has been rolling along all year and have a very good 14-2 record to show for it. Consistently a great defensive team, the Grizzlies are holding opponents to 92.8 points per game, which is second in the league. They have improved a bit on the offensive end this year, as they are putting up 100.6 points on the year as well. They have a good matchup against a beat up Kings team, but are only 2’ point favorites in a game with a total of 195’.

Elite Plays

Mike Conley – Conley is coming off a 45 point FanDuel performance in Portland and gets another great matchup against Sacramento, who are ranked 27th in the league against the PG position. Conley also had a great game against the Kings last time they played, as he put up 22 points and 11 assists. Regardless of Collison’s status, Conley makes a solid play.

Marc Gasol – The Gasol brothers are running wild this year and Marc has been extremely consistent. He has scored over 40 FD points in each of his last 5 games and over 45 in 4 of those games. If Boogie sits again, his ceiling rises, as they have no bodies that can keep him out of the paint.

Secondary Plays

Courtney Lee – Since it is a small slate tonight, Lee makes a solid value play. He is getting 30+ minutes and should be able to hit 20 fantasy points, which you need from your cheap guys.

Sacramento

The Kings have not had the best string of games and are 9-7 now on the season after starting off pretty strong. Injuries have come to this Kings squad and as I post this Gay and Collison are probable and Cousins is questionable. Keep an eye on the news because these are their big three and make a big impact for matchups on both sides.

Elite Plays

Rudy Gay – I will write this up assuming DMC is out. If he is out, Gay makes a very good play today. as he will shoulder the load for the Kings. He went for 45 FD points in his first game back from injury and had a full allotment of minutes, so he should be good to go.

Miami

It looks like we will get one start back for this game, as Wade makes his way back into the lineup. That is a huge blow for us Chalmers fans, as his price has risen and his usage will most likely go down a lot with Wade back in the lineup. The game should have a slow tempo since these two teams have a 92 PACE at the moment. The total is set as the lowest at 189.

Elite Plays

Chris Bosh – Even while Wade was in the lineup, Bosh was going off. He has been extremely consistent this year and should continue that against the Knicks defense.

Secondary Plays

None

New York

New York does not look like it is getting Melo back today against the Heat. The Knicks are very difficult to predict and lack really anyone recently who you can count on for points. Some players may be cheap at places, which should put them in play as the Knicks are 3-point favorites today.

Elite Plays

None

Secondary Plays

Iman Shumpert/J.R. Smith – Pick your poison here today, as one or both of these guys are due to have a very good game with Melo out.
