NBA Player Props for Thursday, 11/5: Best Bets & Predictions Today
What kind of performances can we expect from Jamal Cain, Davion Mitchell, and Bam Adebayo? There are only 2 games on the NBA schedule for Thursday, but basketball fans aren’t likely to be light on entertainment with Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo, Steph Curry, and other big names in action.
Even on a small slate, it’s important to keep an eye on the NBA injury report. Jimmy Butler, Paolo Banchero, and Jalen Suggs will be out of commission once again today, as those players continue to rehab long-term injuries.
As always, be sure to use tools like CourtIQ and our NBA starting lineups page to evaluate how injuries impact usage and to search for inefficiencies in the player prop and DFS markets.

Best NBA Player Props for Thursday, November 5th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 9:00 PM ET on Thursday, November 5th:
- Jamal Cain Over/Under 5.5 Points
- Stephen Curry Over/Under 27.5 Points
- Bam Adebayo Over/Under 20.5 Points
Jamal Cain OVER 5.5 Points (-120, bet365)
Cain has seen his role steadily increase for the Magic of late. This past Monday, he played a season-high 25 minutes – scoring 10 points on 5 field-goal attempts. Cain had the best plus/minus of any Magic starter in that matchup against the Wizards.
The continued absence of Paolo Banchero is likely to give Cain another opportunity to put together a strong performance in a favorable matchup against the Suns.
Stephen Curry UNDER 27.5 Points (-110, bet365)
Curry has been on a tear of late, averaging 36.3 points across his last 3 games. However, it’s unlikely that his incredible run of efficiency will last forever.
Curry is shooting 44.2% from deep during his recent hot stretch – an unsustainable heater, even for the greatest shooter of all time. Curry shot 39.3% from long range last season, for context.
Miami hasn’t been particularly good defending the perimeter early this season, but they should continue to improve in that area as the team’s new pieces become more familiar with one another. We saw late in yesterday’s game how well Miami can play defensively at their peak.
This is simply a bet on some regression for Curry.
Bam Adebayo UNDER 20.5 Points (-110, FanDuel)
Adebayo has never averaged more than 20.4 points per game in any season of his NBA career. Only twice has he averaged north of 20 points per game – and his 20.1 points per game last season only qualified because of an outlier 83-point performance against the hapless Wizards.
The majority of Adebayo’s shot attempts have come from around the rim. Golden State has allowed the 3rd-fewest attempts per game in the restricted area this season, which could limit Adebayo’s volume.
Adebayo would likely need to be unusually efficient from the field to clear this number.
