Happy Halloween! Friday’s NBA holiday slate features 8 games, with ATL/IND and BOS/PHI scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM ET.

There are a number of notable names on the NBA injury report – including Trae Young, Luka Doncic, and Donovan Mitchell. It’s always worth monitoring the potential absence of big stars – high-usage players being ruled out creates plenty of opportunities in the player prop market and on the DFS scene.

Below, you can find 3 of my favorite picks for Friday, October 31st!

Tyrese Maxey UNDER 40.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-105, BetMGM)

Maxey is a very talented basketball player. That being said, he’s unlikely to continue shooting 47.4% from 3-point territory given that he hasn’t been above 37.3% in that area in either of the last 2 seasons. He’s also unlikely to continue averaging north of 10 free throw attempts per game given that he’s never averaged more than 5.6 free throws in a single season prior to this year.

Joel Embiid will be in the lineup as well, which could cut into some of Maxey’s usage. It’s also possible that we start to see the 76ers back off of Maxey’s playing time to some extent – it’s unlikely he averages 43 minutes per game over the course of an entire season. No player averaged more than 37.7 minutes per game last season.

Tonight will also be the second time in the span of 10 days that Boston has seen Maxey. It stands to reason that their defense will do a better job against him this time around, especially with tonight’s game being part of the league’s NBA Cup.

Zaccharie Risacher OVER 10.5 Points (-120, DraftKings)

Risacher has scored only 10 points combined across his last 2 games, but there’s evidence to suggest that we should expect more from him in the near future. Risacher scored 16 points in the team’s season opener against the Raptors but then missed time with an ankle injury.

In his first game back, he shot only 1-for-5 from the floor and played only 20 minutes. On Wednesday against the Nets, Risacher played 28 minutes but scored only 8 points on an inefficient 2-for-7 shooting night.

The important thing to note from his most recent performance, however, is the opportunity. Risacher didn’t finish the game on the floor, but he saw a healthy number of shot attempts and saw his minutes increase in his second game back from injury. If we assume a similar amount of minutes and shot attempts tonight, there is certainly value on the over – especially with Trae Young having been ruled out.

Grayson Allen OVER 16.5 Points (-120, bet365)

Add this pick with 1 click!PLACE THIS BET ONBET365

Allen is averaging 16.8 points per game this season despite being far less efficient than his career shooting percentages. In 2 games since Dillon Brooks last played, Allen has attempted 19 and 10 field goals while playing 36+ minutes in each game.

Tonight, Allen will draw a rematch against the Jazz – a team that just allowed 23 points to him earlier this week. Allen has taken more than half of his shot attempts this season from above the break, which is an area that the Jazz don’t defend well. They enter play having allowed the 2nd-most shot attempts per game from that area of the floor.

There is always a risk that Allen is not efficient with his opportunities, but he should have more than enough volume to make this a worthwhile play.
