Best NBA Player Props for Monday, October 27th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 PM ET on Monday, October 27th:
- Terance Mann Over/Under 7.5 Points
- Ryan Dunn Over/Under 7.5 Points
- Deni Avdija Over/Under 6.5 Rebounds
Terance Mann OVER 7.5 Points (-113, FanDuel)
Mann has seen his minutes increase in each of Brooklyn’s first 3 games, jumping from 19 minutes in the season opener to 24 minutes against the Cavaliers, then 31 minutes against the Spurs. It’s probably unwise to expect Mann to continue playing 30+ minutes every night, but it’s difficult to overlook the fact that he’s taken 6+ shot attempts in each of his team’s games so far this year, with roughly half of those attempts coming from long range.
Since scoring 14 points in Brooklyn’s season opener, Mann is an inefficient 5 for 13 from the field, including 1 for 7 from 3-point territory. Assuming a similar volume of shots this evening, with slight positive regression in terms of efficiency, he should have a great chance to score 8+ points.
Ryan Dunn OVER 7.5 Points (-135, BetMGM)
Dunn has scored 9 points in 2 of his first 3 games this season, but more important from a betting perspective has been his volume. In those 3 games, he’s attempted 9, 5, and 8 shots from the field, with over a third of those attempts coming from long range.
Tonight, Dunn draws a favorable matchup against a Utah team that doesn’t project to be a dominant defensive force this season. If Dunn is somewhat efficient with opportunities, he should have a chance to get near double figures in scoring once again.
Deni Avdija OVER 6.5 Rebounds (-129, DraftKings)
Avdija has cleared this number in 2 of Portland’s first 3 games to begin the new campaign, and the underlying metrics suggest that he could still be due for some positive regression on the glass.
After averaging 7.3 rebounds per game last year, Avdija is averaging only 6.3 rebounds early this season, but he’s had 11+ rebound chances in every game he’s played to date. Avidja averaged 12.7 rebound chances per game last season, and he’s at 12.3 chances per game this year. There is a reason that our ScoresAndOdds premium projections like the over in this spot.
