NBA Player Props Today – Thursday, December 12, 2024

Kristaps Porzingis OVER 20.5 Points (-118, FanDuel)

Kristaps Porzingis had a minutes restriction when he first returned to the floor in late November, but he seems to be free of any major limitations at this point judging by the fact that he played 33 minutes this past Saturday against the Grizzlies. Porzingis averaged 20.1 points per game last season with the Celtics and was more efficient than he had ever been in his career prior to arriving in Bean Town. This year, his shots per game are up even though his minutes are still down on average due to his restrictions when he first returned from injury. If Porzingis gets 15 shots up tonight, he should have a great chance to get the job done at this market number.

Jaylen Brown OVER 26.5 Points (-105, Bet365)

In recent seasons, Jaylen Brown has consistently performed better at home than he has on the road. Fortunately for him, he gets a favorable matchup on his home floor tonight against the Pistons. Detroit enters play ranked 25th in defensive rating across their last 8 games while playing at a league-average pace. During that stretch, they have been particularly weak defending opposing guards, ranking 23rd in opponent field goal percentage and 20th in opponent 3-point percentage. Brown could threaten for 30 points on Thursday if the game script remains relatively competitive.

Malik Beasley UNDER 13.5 Points (-105, BetMGM)

Malik Beasley is in the midst of an excellent stretch of basketball, averaging 18.9 points per game since November 8. However, there are some signs that regression is imminent. Beasley, a career 38.7% shooter from 3-point territory, is shooting 44.6% from deep across his last 16 games, including 13 for 21 from deep in his last 2 games alone. He’s also seen his playing time regress of late, playing fewer than 29 minutes in 5 of his last 6 games after playing 30+ minutes in 8 of his 10 prior contests. Facing a tough Boston defense this evening, this is a tough spot for Beasley.
