NBA Player Props Today – Tuesday, February 4, 2025

Tyrese Maxey UNDER 28.5 Points (-102, FanDuel)

Dallas has struggled to get stops lately, ranking 27th in defensive rating across their last 8 games. However, they have done a good job defending areas of the floor that Maxey likes to attack. Since the middle of January, Maxey leads the 76ers with 7.5 field goal attempts per game in the restricted area – a zone that the Mavericks have defended better than any other team in their last 8 games. Maxey has also been attempting a lot of above-the-break 3-pointers, but this is an area where Dallas has limited volume well, running opposing guards off of the perimeter.

Joel Embiid could also make his long-awaited return to the floor tonight. Maxey has gone under this number in 7 of 10 games in which Embiid has played this season. There are a number of reasons to think Maxey’s recent run of 30-point efforts could come to an end.

Jayson Tatum UNDER 25.5 Points (+105, BetMGM)

Tatum has been an assassin on the road this season, scoring 26+ points in 16 of 24 games away from TD Garden. He’s also had a lot of success against the Cavaliers recently, scoring at least 26 points in each of the last 5 games against them.

That being said, the Celtics are fully healthy heading into tonight’s matchup, which makes this a more fair number than it may appear on the surface. This season, Tatum has scored 26+ points in only 9 of 17 games in which Jrue Holiday, Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Kristaps Porzingis have each been available.

At plus money, this is good value in a game that could have a playoff-lite atmosphere.

Jalen Brunson UNDER 26.5 Points (-115, DraftKings)

Earlier this season, Toronto’s defense was the equivalent of five human turnstiles standing on a basketball court. That has changed in a big way in recent weeks as the team has gotten healthier. Entering play, the Raptors lead the NBA in defensive rating across their last 10 games. During those 10 games, they have held guards to the lowest field goal percentage and 4th lowest 3-point success rate of any team.

The only thing that the Raptors have struggled with of late is defending without fouling, which is something that is a potential risk when guarding someone like Brunson, who attempted 14 free throws last night. Still, Brunson has gone under this number in more than half of his road games this season. There is some value on the under here with the Knicks on the second night of a back-to-back set and traveling across national borders after playing at Madison Square Garden last night.
