Wednesday’s NBA slate features 10 games, beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET with the Rockets taking on the Raptors. Fans also have a pair of marquee matchups on tap, with the Cavaliers against the Celtics at 7:00 p.m. ET, followed by the Lakers against the Timberwolves as part of tonight’s ESPN double-header.

Even more fun for basketball fans – tonight’s NBA injury report is less chaotic than it has been early this season. Zion Williamson is listed as questionable, but the status of most other stars has already been decided for Wednesday’s action.

As always, be sure to keep an eye on the status of key players as game-time approaches. Last-minute inactives have the potential to create tremendous opportunity on the player prop market and DFS scene.

Below, you can find 3 of my favorite picks for Wednesday, October 29th!

Zaccharie Risacher OVER 12.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-105, BetMGM)

Risacher played poorly on Monday in his return from an ankle injury, but that performance alone is unlikely to be enough to bury him on the depth chart. Risacher was the No. 1 overall selection in the 2024 draft, averaging 12.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game as a rookie. He was even better down the stretch in his rookie year, averaging 16.3 points per game in March and 13.8 points per game in April, with efficient shooting numbers.

This past summer, reports on Risacher were very optimistic, saying that he grew into his body more. In his final 2 preseason games, he scored 16 points and 24 points in only 25 minutes of playing time.

Brooklyn enters play this evening with the worst defensive rating of any team in the NBA. This is a bit of speculative play, but it would make sense to see Risacher play a few more minutes on Wednesday than he did earlier this week. He should also perform better as he continues to regain confidence in his previously injured ankle. If he sees 25 minutes tonight, he should have plenty of opportunities to accrue some counting statistics.

Craig Porter Jr. OVER 10.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115, bet365)

Cleveland has already been playing without Darius Garland and Max Strus to begin the new campaign, and tonight, they will be down another wing option, with Sam Merrill having been ruled out.

Porter isn’t immediately thought of by many people as a reliable NBA contributor, but he’s shown an ability to post strong per-minute counting numbers in briefly expanded roles with the Cavaliers. Last year, he had 3 consecutive games with 17+ points, rebounds, and assists (PRA) to end the regular season, with Cleveland resting a number of key players. In the season finale, he had 20 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and even added a pair of blocks.

Tonight, Porter should see a slightly expanded role, given that Lonzo Ball appears to be on a minutes cap regardless of who is available. If Porter sees 20 minutes of court time this evening, he should be able to make an impact in multiple phases of the game.

Devin Booker UNDER 30.5 Points (-120, bet365)

Booker scored 34 points on Monday against the Jazz, but he played 44 minutes and took a season-high 26 shot attempts, including 12 shots from 3-point territory, which was more than double his previous season-high. It’s entirely possible that we see a much more aggressive version of Booker as a scorer with Dillon Brooks sidelined, but it’s also possible that such an approach hurts his overall efficiency.

After shooting 50% or better in each of the team’s first 3 games this season, Booker shot only 42.3% from the field on Monday against Utah. Tonight, he could be dealing with some fatigue issues as well, coming off of an overtime game that was played at relatively high altitude.

There is also a slim chance that Jalen Green could play tonight after he was upgraded to questionable on the team’s injury report. Green has averaged 14.2 field goal attempts per game or more in each of his first 4 NBA seasons and would surely cut into Booker’s volume if active.
