NBA Situational Projections: Wednesday, March 7th
When I first got into NBA DFS, the phrase I kept hearing was “minutes = money.” The concept is simple enough: A player averages a certain number of points per minute, and if he gets a certain number of minutes, we can expect him to be one of the best point per dollar scorers on the slate. Unfortunately, as we’ve all learned, not all projections are created equal. Every day, I build my own projection set for NBA. Some days, that’s easy. If a team has a neutral matchup and isn’t missing any bodies, a base set of projections works just fine. Other days though, especially as the NBA season rolls along, it gets a lot more complicated.
Wednesday, March 7th
I used to root for the Kings. Bibby, Peja, White Chocolate, C-Webb, etc. They got screwed against the Lakers and probably should have won a title. I really used to like the Kings. Now, as a DFS player, I hate them. Not only is any veteran is a risk to rest on any given night, but the coaching staff toys with us on a nightly basis. A few weeks ago, Dave Joerger said he wasn’t sure if Zach Randolph was going to play or not. He followed that up by playing 40 minutes. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to the Mad King in Sacramento, but figuring out what Joerger and his coaching staff is going to do on a nightly basis is important from a DFS-perspective, especially tonight.
