NBA Underdog Fantasy Player Predictions for Monday (1/13)

Kispert of the Wizards

I’m here to give you a (free!) peek behind the curtain regarding some of the awesome things our NBA DFS projections team is cooking up by giving you my top picks for today’s NBA slate on Underdog Fantasy.

Every single pick you will find below is going to be based on what our projections say is a meaningful edge. Please keep in mind that the NBA news cycle can get crazy, so what is listed below may become a better/worse play depending on how that news breaks. You can always stay up to date on exactly what a team’s rotation and depth chart will look like on a given day by heading to our NBA starting lineups page.

We have 6 games on the schedule as the NBA is set to tip off on 1/13. Below, I’ll detail how I’m approaching things on Underdog this Monday evening.

Underdog Fantasy – one of the most popular DFS pick’em sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry.

I’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how NBA players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Underdog Fantasy Top NBA Picks for 1/13

Now that you’re signed up, here are some of our top NBA picks on Underdog for 1/13 at a glance:

Timberwolves vs. Wizards NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Timberwolves vs. Wizards NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Corey Kispert Lower Than 13.5 Points + Assists

While his season average is close to the line at 13.4, his recent performance trends and matchup against Minnesota’s strong defense (4th in points allowed) suggest a lower output. The Timberwolves defense could further limit his scoring and playmaking opportunities. They are one of the tougher matchups for small forwards when looking at our Defense vs. Archetypes Tool. Additionally, Washington’s offensive struggles and Kispert’s inconsistency make it likely he will fall short of this mark. This pick is supported by both his recent trends and the challenging defensive matchup he faces.

Our projections show this with a 5.73% edge and a 63.47% hit rate.

Heat vs. Clippers NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Heat vs. Clippers NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Jaime Jaquez Jr. Lower Than 18.5 Points + Rebounds

Notably, RotoGrinders projects Jaquez to score 16.4 combined points and rebounds, supporting this pick. With a 1.94% edge and a 59.67% hit rate, the statistical probability favors this. These factors collectively suggest that Jaquez is likely to produce fewer than 18.5 combined points and rebounds. Granted, it’s a small edge (especially with Jimmy Butler out), but it’s still an edge.

Spurs vs. Lakers NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Spurs vs. Lakers NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Rui Hachimura Lower Than 10.5 Points

RotoGrinders projects him at 8.92 points, giving this pick a 2.39% edge and a 60.12% hit rate. Hachimura has averaged 9.0 points over his last five games, staying under 10.5 points in 60% of those contests. Despite a season average of 11.94 points, his limited offensive role behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis reduces his scoring opportunities. With recent trends and projections aligning, this pick offers strong value and statistical backing for tonight’s matchup against the Spurs.
