NBA Underdog Fantasy Player Predictions for Tuesday (1/28)

VanVleet of the Rockets

I’m here to give you a (free!) peek behind the curtain regarding some of the awesome things our NBA DFS projections team is cooking up by giving you my top picks for today’s NBA slate on Underdog Fantasy.

Every single pick you will find below is going to be based on what our projections say is a meaningful edge.

Please keep in mind that the NBA news cycle can get crazy, so what is listed below may become a better/worse play depending on how that news breaks. You can always stay up to date on exactly what a team’s rotation and depth chart will look like on a given day by heading to our NBA starting lineups page.

We have 4 games on the schedule as the NBA is set to tip off on 1/28. Below, I’ll detail how I’m approaching things on Underdog this Tuesday evening.

If you want to play along but haven’t signed up yet, grab a special offer with our Underdog promo “GRINDERS” to unlock up to $1000 Bonus Cash courtesy of a generous deposit match. Underdog Fantasy – one of the most popular DFS pick’em sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry.

I’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how NBA players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Underdog Fantasy Top NBA Picks for 1/28

Now that you’re signed up, here are some of our top NBA picks on Underdog for 1/28 at a glance:

Rockets vs. Hawks NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Rockets vs. Hawks NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Fred VanVleet Lower Than 3.5 Rebounds

VanVleet achieving lower than 3.5 rebounds tonight is a solid pick. We project him at 3.25 rebounds, and he has averaged just 2.7 rebounds over his last 10 games, hitting lower than 3.5 in 70% of those games.

Our simulations also show a 3.14% edge and a 54.29% hit rate for this pick. With Houston’s recent roster adjustments and VanVleet’s primary focus on ball-handling, his rebounding opportunities are expected to remain limited.

Lakers vs. 76ers NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Lakers vs. 76ers NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Dalton Knecht Lower Than 2.5 Rebounds

Knecht achieving lower than 2.5 rebounds tonight is a solid pick. We project him at 2.38 rebounds, and his role as a scorer rather than a rebounder limits his opportunities on the boards.

Knecht has averaged just 3.1 rebounds per game this season, and our simulations show this pick has a 3.03% edge and a 52.02% hit rate. With his limited rebounding production and the statistical backing, I’m riding with our projections on this one.

Jazz vs. Warriors NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Jazz vs. Warriors NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Brandin Podziemski Lower Than 15.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Podziemski achieving lower than 15.5 PRA is a solid pick. We project him at 14.25 PRA, and he has averaged 13.5 PRA in his last 2 games while playing limited minutes (22.5 per game). Despite increased opportunities due to injuries, Podziemski remains a secondary option on the Warriors.

Our simulations further support this pick with a 2.7% edge and a 56.73% hit rate, making it a statistically sound choice.
