NBA Underdog Fantasy Player Predictions for Wednesday (3/19)

Sochan of the Spurs

I’m here to give you a (free!) peek behind the curtain regarding some of the awesome things our NBA DFS projections team is cooking up by giving you my top picks for today’s NBA slate on Underdog Fantasy.

Every single pick you will find below is going to be based on what our projections say is a meaningful edge.

Please keep in mind that the NBA news cycle can get crazy, so what is listed below may become a better/worse play depending on how that news breaks. You can always stay up to date on exactly what a team’s rotation and depth chart will look like on a given day by heading to our NBA starting lineups page.

We have 11 games on the schedule as the NBA is set to tip off on 3/19. Below, I’ll detail how I’m approaching things on Underdog this Wednesday evening.

If you want to play along but haven’t signed up yet, grab a special offer with our Underdog sign-up bonus “GRINDERS” to unlock up to $1,000 Bonus Cash courtesy of a generous deposit match. Underdog Fantasy – one of the most popular DFS pick’em sites – provides player projections for NBA matchups each day. The ball is then in our court to decide whether a player will ultimately exceed or fall short of those projections in the games. With a huge roster of players available from which to choose, we just need to make a minimum of two picks to build an entry.

I’ll break down the board by looking at factors like usage rates, projected pace, lines in the sports betting market, and of course, our RotoGrinders projections to forecast how NBA players might fare in categories like points, rebounds, and assists. Underdog Fantasy Top NBA Picks for 3/19

Now that you’re signed up, here are some of our top NBA picks on Underdog for 3/19 at a glance:

Knicks vs. Spurs NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Knicks vs. Spurs NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Jeremy Sochan Higher Than 6.5 Rebounds

This is showing as one of our best picks early in the day, with a 4.9% edge and 58.4% winning percentage. Sochan is averaging a career-high 6.7 rebounds per game this season, and that is despite averaging 4 minutes less per game than he did last season (when he averaged 6.4 rebounds per game).

I am not going to be deterred by the tough matchup against the Knicks or the scary looking game log. Instead, I will trust our projections and the long-term track record of Sochan being a decent rebounder when given the court time.

Cavs vs. Kings NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Cavs vs. Kings NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Jarrett Allen Lower Than 12.5 Rebounds + Assists

This Allen pick checks in with a 4.3% edge and a 58.3% winning percentage. I feel pretty good about this one just looking at some back-of-the-napkin math with his season averages: 28.7 minutes, 10.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists.

While some might be worried about the Kings missing Domantas Sabonis — meaning that Allen could absolutely feast on the glass — I also think Sabonis’ absence could give us another out on winning this pick. For one, Jonas Valanciunas is no slouch (when it comes to rebounding) as Sabonis’ replacement, but more importantly, the Kings are far more likely to put JoVal on the bench down the stretch and play more small-ball (something they wouldn’t do with Sabonis). If that comes to fruition, Allen could land on the lower end of his minutes expectation.

Wizards vs. Jazz NBA Underdog Fantasy Predictions

Here are the Wizards vs. Jazz NBA Underdog Fantasy predictions for tonight:

Isaiah Collier Lower Than 12.5 Rebounds + Assists

This is a hefty projection by Underdog considering that Collier averages 3.3 rebounds and 6.2 assists on the season (in 25.1 minutes). And our projections agree, with a 4.9% edge and 62.7% winning percentage.

The tricky part with this pick is that the Jazz are tanking heavily, so predicting minutes for this group is extremely volatile. A look at Collier’s game log won’t make you feel good about putting this pick in your Underdog slip, but it’s worth noting that he has played at least 26 minutes in 12 straight games. Our minutes projection for him tonight? 25.
