Hittin' The Nuts - Squirrelpatrol's Top Stacks: Week 10
Want to hit the nuts and take down 1st place in these massive contests posted by FanDuel and DraftKings? Who better to walk you through their favorite NFL DFS stacks than Squirrelpatrol! Undoubtedly one of the best DFS players in the game today, Squirrelpatrol has accumulated 90+ Live Final seats, taking 2nd place in the 2023 DraftKings Fantasy Baseball World Championship for a $600,000 prize, and most recently, took down the Milly Maker on the Week 2 MNF 2-game slate. Should we roster the chalk stack? How off-the-board should we get in large-field tournaments? Squirrelpatrol answers all of these questions and more below!
As DFS strategies get more advanced, moving from hunch-based decision-making to play-by-play simulations meant to measure how often certain players or stacks appear in the optimal lineup, it’s important to pair both quantitative and qualitative analysis when putting together our NFL DFS lineups. Each week, I’ll be taking a look at our Optimal Stack Tool for both FanDuel and DraftKings and giving some thoughts on what the best NFL DFS stacks will be for different contest types and sizes.
NFL DFS Top Stacks for Week 10
Chalk Stack – Joe Burrow vs Houston Texans
Joe Burrow is projected as the highest-owned QB on DraftKings this week (15.2% projected ownership, 16.6% optimal rate) and the second-highest-owned QB on FanDuel (12.5% projected ownership, 12.7% optimal rate) going into the Bengals matchup at home against the Texans. Cincinnati has a 26.5 implied point total in this game, and they are favored by 6.5 points in a game with a 46.5 total, which is the second-highest implied point total on the slate after Dallas.
Burrow started this season with poor production, totaling just 2 passing touchdowns and 5 rushing yards as he recovered from an ankle injury and faced some top defenses like the Ravens and Browns. He has turned things on in the past four weeks, putting up at least two passing touchdowns in each of the last four games and 283 or more passing yards in three of those four games. This week, Burrow gets a good matchup against a Texans defense that has allowed the 9th-most passing yards per game.
I won’t aim to fade Joe Burrow this Sunday, and in my multi-entry build, I’ll likely own him right around his projected ownership mark. I’ll proceed with caution however, and I may end up going elsewhere in some of my single entry and smaller-field tournament lineups. While Burrow is showing as positive leverage in our Optimal Stacks Tool, he will be missing Tee Higgins from his receiving corps this weekend, which could lead to higher ownership for the Joe Burrow – Ja’Marr Chase stack. If I’m using Burrow this weekend, I’ll look to add at least one additional Bengals wide receiver to that combination, and would strongly consider getting very different with either Andrei Iosivas or Trenton Irwin for larger-field contests.
