What is your favorite game-script build and why?

Notorious: We have a snow game in Buffalo! My favorite game script is the Bills building a lead early. I like a lot of players from Buffalo as well as their defense. On the Niners side, I’m hoping almost all of their offensive production comes through Christian McCaffrey. The Bills are tough against the pass, yet they are 26th in PFF’s grades against the run and dead last in receiving yards allowed to running backs this season.

ncorfield8k: This is a must-win game for the 49ers, and I think they’ll lean on Christian McCaffrey. Whether they’ll have much success with Trent Williams out is another question. I have my doubts. I’m expecting the Bills to win pretty handily, meaning late in the game, the Bills should be running quite a lot while the 49ers are trying to catch up through the air. Luckily, this benefits McCaffrey as much as anyone else in the offense.

Davis Mattek: SF is in a miserable spot. Brock Purdy is injured, their season is on the line, it is below freezing, and snow is on the ground. This is set up to be a Bills by 10+ game in which no one on either side of the ball has a fantasy explosion because there are so few plays run in the game. I think we very likely see a Bills blowout win.

Bobby Gomes: The Bills are scoring 29 PPG (3rd in NFL), and the 49ers have been leaky and inconsistent on defense. However, the playing field becomes somewhat neutral when the weather conditions are as terrible as they are expected to be. Despite the game total at 44.5, I will have a ton of both running games and their defenses, as I think the game will be low scoring. I have this game being a close rock fight on the ground, while the passing game is not really being a big factor.

What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
